Blackhawks fan here- I hope they do sign him, he belongs on the ice, and in a Leafs uniform.

I think they will, and soon. It’s just funny that after all this, this is how it comes out... Pretty bizarre. Does show just how tight the organization has become though, and that’s good.
Also, the rumo
red # is 6.9 million, because of course. Nice:)

Lol at 6. 9, but that seems like about where they ought to be on him. I assume it’s only 1 or 2 years. They have others to sign long term first.
I just hope it’s real and not a troll. Finger crossed!!

Seems right for a medium to long term number to me. It’s probably somewhere in the middle, maybe 4 years. Damn Draisaitl and his 8.5
Me too. This has gone on long enough. Would be an epic troll tho.

At this rate, 1967 redux is just around the corner :)

You’re probably right. 2 is too short, but I can’t see them going long term, so 4 is reasonable.
I just hope it’s a signing and not a trade ( Leafs are my 2nd favorite team because reasons).

so like, not as extreme as the
Xtreme :p

The Xtreme was never even close to extreme

If it’s a trade it better be an absolute hosing. That’s the only way it makes sense. I doubt it is though.

With any luck. They’ve had a great season without Nylander and without Matthews for half of it... so...
Also, them Blues. Woof. What happened there.

Just hope they don’t emulate the Canucks: get everyone excited, then vanish when the heat is on. I’ve seen that a few times.
I am surprised by the Wings lately. I was in Detroit last week and attended a game, they were showing life. That was always “my team” when I was younger, even on the west coast, as I liked their game. Kind of different between now and the 90s.

sorry, I had to!

For what exactly do you have to be sorry?

Personally I think the Wings have a few more tough years ahead of them... but there’s at least life there. The Atlantic is going to be an absolute dogfight in a couple years.

Definitely. I think they could be moving from painful to mediocre now, and that can be a big deal. Being mildly competitive is a win in itself, sometimes. Another cool part is that it makes for cheap tickets - $28 for 14th row, I remember paying more than twice that for Canucks tickets 20 years ago.
